LUCY AND THE RUNAWAYS LOVES SYDNEY

Hi all, this is Natalie Leung from Lucy and the Runaways. I’m 24 years old and I was born in New Zealand but I moved to Sydney when I was 6. I consider myself a fully pledged Sydney sider – here are some of the things I love about this city.

One of the first things is the fashion – bold, fun, and unique clothing is what the girls wear here. I found some of my favourite items from Beginning Boutique; such as denim shorts from One Teaspoon (a staple in any girl’s wardrobe!) and the Holster Bodice from One Teaspoon. I’ve been layering my bodice under casual t-shirts and singlets to make a statement, and getting lots of attention! I’ve also basically lived in my denim shorts these Summer days, they are so comfortable and show off my freshly tanned legs.

The second thing is the food. Australia is located especially close to Asia, and also a multicultural country so we get such good quality food and variety. Just by walking on the streets of the city I can get Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Thai, Mexican, Moroccan or German food within a few kilometres. I recommend the Thai food here, so fresh and authentic!

And third and not least, I love the beaches of Sydney. My favourite is of course the iconic Bondi Beach, where the sand is warm, the water is friendly and the food is fresh. I spent most of my summer at the beach, soaking up the sun and reading my books. If you are in Sydney I also recommend Coogee, Clovelly and Manly Beaches. Beautiful.

BRISBANE BLOGGERS MEET UP

On Wednesday night Beginning Boutique hosted the last Brisbane bloggers meet up of the year with the fabulous Sophia from Owl Versus Dove, Sonya from The Swirl and Swing, Madeline from We Killed Couture, Sammi from Chase Dakota, Kaity from Modern Legacy, Francesca from Opinion Slave, Chloe from Social Emissions, Nora from Black Balloon, Bianca and Kellie from Sargasso-sea, Phoebe from Poppy Rose Style, Liss from Daydream Lily, Jess from Deery Me and Kit from That Unreliable Girl.

It was a fun night of pizza, wine and plenty of chat about fashion, getting arrested in Vegas (we're looking at you Chloe), Tokyo drift (we're looking at you again, Chloe) and our camera battery going flat (rookie blogger mistake according to Francesca).

Hello! It’s Lauren here from fashion blog Your Only Black Swan.

I’m sure most of you would agree Beginning Boutique is kicking butt with all their hot new arrivals and killer range. From stylish everyday wear to sassy ensembles to get the party started… you will be no doubt be looking your best this summer. One of my favourite Aussie labels Staple has also hit the store, offering a contemporary twist to quality basics making them versatile than ever before.

As soon as I saw the High Knit Dress at BB, I first thought of teaming it up with statement heels and nothing more, though as soon as I tried it on, I realised the back design should take centre stage. Due to the snug, bodycon fit I was able to wear the mini dress as a top, tucked into these printed palazzo pants – should I say this piece is now in fact a two-in-one! Hooray for innovative dressing! Another wonderful thing about this dress/top is the optional key-hole back. You’ll be asking yourself whether to clip/or unclip? Tough one… but I prefer it clipped like I have worn here.

Weekend Ready

Everyone loves that Friday feeling, including us girls at Beginning Boutique. We live for the weekend and that's why we've got a closet bursting with gorgeous get-up-and-go outfits and accessories that will take you from the beach, to the coffee shop, to the club without stopping.

This morning I raided the beautiful BB closet and raided pulled some of my favourite weekend looks featuring this season's most coveted trends.

Summer is heating up fast, which means weekends at the beach filled with sun, surf and swimwear. Drooling over the stunning range of bikinis and onesies on the beachwear rack, I fell in love with the Mouille Sophia Bikini. The high waisted bottoms simply scream rockabilly pin-up girl, one of my favourite trends at the moment. The sheer detail on the top is the winner for me though - it can totally be translated from sophisticated beachwear chic, to festival grunge if teamed with a pair of denim shorts and ankle boots. Inject a hint of colour into this look with bright nails and boho bracelets.

Combining comfy, key pieces with the class of intricate detail is the key to creating casual daywear for every occasion. This is my dream look for a relaxed, Sunday session - the Free Spirit Mini Skirt and One Teaspoon Love Street tank.

The elegance of evening wear is summed up in the One Teaspoon Gold Rush dress. The delicately beaded bodice contrasted with cutesy little cocktail skirt means that this weekend you'll be the Belle of the ball...or the bar for that matter!
